There is something fleeting
in the works of Bruce Fraleigh, as though we have just caught
a glimpse of the beauty that lies behind the harsher realities
of life. His undraped windows invite us to peek in; his
light-filled images and pastel colors make us glad we did.
In Bed & Breakfast, a bike leans up against a rail and
the door stands open. We sense the goodness in humanity,
yet the work is devoid of human form. In Broadway, he manages
to create a sense of serenity even as we sit in bumper-to-bumper
traffic.
Fraleigh graduated from the University
of London, Goldsmiths' College, BFA with honors. His works
are in corporate and public collections including those
of the Rockefeller Foundation, Steinmart, Inc., Nations
Banks and the Scott McRae Group in Jacksonville, FL, among
others.
